Shorts pattern of moderate volume with one-piece rolled cuffs at the bottom. The front has two pleats. The middle of the waistband is at the level of the natural waistline. There are slash pockets on the front and darts on the back. Fastener is fly front zipper. The top of the shorts is finished with a stitched waistband. There are 5 belt loops on the waistband. On the wrong side, the fly front, fly shield and inner waistband are finished with bias binding.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:

To sew this model, it is recommended to choose moderately dense, plastic, non-stretchable or low-stretch materials. Linen, cotton, denim (jeans), corduroy, and suit fabrics work well.

The shorts in the photo by Elenapatternstudio are made of 100% linen with a fabric weight of 190 g/m2.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Main fabric, taking into account a 10% increase for possible shrinkage, m:

 

Non-directional cutting, width 140 cm

  • Lining fabric (thin cotton, poplin recommended) for bias binding
  • Lightweight knit or woven interfacing, 35–40 g/m2  ~ 0.25 m with a width of at least 120 cm
  • Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape with stitch reinforcement, 1.5 cm wide – 1 m
  • Stitched straight-grain fusible stay tape, 1.5 cm wide ~ 0.3 m
  • Zipper for trousers 18 cm long
  • Thread to match the fabric – 5 spools (4 for overlocker, 1 for sewing machine)
  • Needles for sewing machine and overlocker No. 80-90.
  • Button with a diameter of 18 – 20 mm – 1 pc.
