A pattern for a short coat / jacket of a straight silhouette. On the front there are chest darts and welt pockets. On the back there are shoulder darts. The sleeves are set-in one-seam. Along the bottom of the sleeve there is a detachable tab, threaded through the loops, with a button fastening. The collar is turn-down and notched with a one-piece stand. The garment has a double-breasted button front closure. The jacket has a sewn-on lining. The length of the garment is up to the hip level.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:

For sewing this model, it is recommended to choose moderately dense, non-stretchable fabrics of the coat or suit group. For sewing a trench coat, fabrics of the raincoat and jacket group are recommended. For lining, fabrics containing viscose are suitable.

The jacket in the photo by Elenapatternstudio is made of coat fabric with a fabric weight of 330 g/m2, composition: 20% alpaca, 50% wool, 30% polyester. Lining 50% viscose, 50% acetate.

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Interfacing ~ 1 m
  • Crinoline or canvas for reinforcing the corners of lapels and collar stand ~ 0.5 m. I used crinoline with horsehair with a density of 130 g/m2. The crinoline can be replaced with interfaced calico.
  • Thin interfacing for fixing the crinoline on the collar ~ 0.2 m
  • Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape with stitch reinforcement, width 15 mm ~ 2 m
  • Stitched straight-grain fusible stay tape, width of 15 mm ~ 2 m
  • Cotton twill tape ~ 1 m
  • Composite shoulder pads 10-12 mm thick – 1 pair (optional)
  • Sleeve heads – 1 pair (optional)
  • Buttons with a diameter of 20-25 mm 6 pcs. (one button on each tab) or 8 pcs. (two buttons on each tab)
  • Transparent buttons with a diameter of 10-12 mm 4 pcs. (sub-buttons) + with a diameter of 15-20 mm 1 pc.
  • Threads to match the fabric – 2 spools for a sewing machine. Reinforced threads recommended.
  • Universal needles for sewing machine №90-100
  • Needles №70 – 80 (preferably Microtex) for lining

 

NECESSARY EQUIPMENT:
