Pattern for a straight-fit knit cardigan with moderate ease, featuring side-seam-free construction. The shoulder line is slightly dropped. Long sleeves are cut in one piece. The neckline is a deep V-shaped and finished with a placket. Closure is provided by buttons and buttonholes. The inner edges of the placket, neckline, and fronts are finished with bias binding. Hemline ends above the hip.

In the photo, the cardigan is styled with Picasso trousers, Twist jeans, and Fortuna skirt.

For sewing this model, it is recommended to choose knit fabric of medium or moderate density.

According to fiber composition, it’s best to choose a material containing natural fibers (wool, cotton). A resilient, opaque knit fabric would work well.

  • Interfacing – two strips ~40-45 cm long (cut on the straight grain) and 2 cm wide
  • Clear elastic 4-5 mm wide and ~50 cm long
  • Thin cotton or poplin for making bias binding ~ 40 – 50 cm
  • Buttons with a diameter of 18 mm – 5 pcs.
  • Non-woven water-soluble material (without adhesive coating) with a density of 35-40 g/m2 as an auxiliary material for making buttonholes on a sewing machine – 2 strips 3 cm wide and ~ 50 – 55 cm long
  • Matching thread for overlocker and sewing machine
  • Needles for knit fabrics for sewing machine and overlocker No. 80 – 90 and for basting
  • Twin needle for knit fabrics for sewing machine No. 80/2.5 – 90/2.5 or No. 80/3 – 90/3
