Pattern for a knitted sweatshirt with a moderate volume, slightly tapered towards the bottom. The sleeves are raglan, two-piece. The sleeve hems are finished with cuffs. The collar is a grown-on stand collar, finished with a facing. The bottom of the garment features a sewn-on waistband. The seams are trimmed with piping. The length of the sweatshirt is above the hip level.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:

For sewing this model, it is recommended to choose a knit fabric of medium or moderate weight. Regarding fiber content, it is advisable to choose a material containing natural fibers (wool, cotton). Resilient, non-sag, and opaque knitwear, French terry, or jersey will work well. For the cuffs and the sewn-on waistband, it is recommended to use a highly stretchable knit fabric, such as rib knit.

The sweatshirt in the photo by Elenapatternstudio is made from 3-thread loopback French terry, composition: 65% cotton, 35% polyester, weight 320 g/m². The cuffs and waistband are made from rib knit, weight 350 g/m².

YOU WILL NEED:

  • Main fabric, taking into account a 10% allowance for possible shrinkage, m:

  • A more stretchable fabric for the waistband and cuffs, for example, rib knit – 20 cm with a width of at least 100 cm.
  • Knit piping 10-11 mm wide with a cord 2 mm thick ~ 10 – 12 m.
  • Elastic cord (cord – elastic) 2 mm thick, white or matching the piping tape (for trimming the neckline edge) ~ 1 m.
  • Threads to match the fabric for the overlocker and for the sewing machine.
  • Needles for knit fabrics for the sewing machine and overlocker No. 80 – 90 and for hand-basting
  • Twin needle for knit fabrics for the sewing machine No. 80/2.5 – 90/2.5 or No. 80/3 – 90/3
