The trousers pattern features a moderate volume with the center waistband sitting at the natural waistline. The design includes side panels that widen towards the hem. The front sections feature pockets constructed with a cut-away side panel and pocket facings, while the back incorporates a yoke. The trousers fasten with a fly front zipper with a one-piece facing. The waist is finished with an attached waistband featuring five belt loops. The hem can be finished straight or with a slight curved shape, being shorter at the front, to minimize excess fabric at the shoes; the trousers are designed to be full-length. Decorative topstitching is applied along several seams. On the inside, the fly facing, fly shield, waistband, and belt loops are finished with bias binding.
The trousers can be executed in a single color for a monochromatic look or as a color-block design, where the pocket facings, waistband, yoke, and side panels can be highlighted in a contrasting color. A companion fabric, such as denim in a darker or lighter shade or the wrong side of the main fabric, can be used for the contrasting elements.

For sewing this model, it is recommended to choose moderately dense, non-stretch or low-stretch materials. Denim (jeans), corduroy, and suit linen are well-suited.
The trousers in the Elenapatternstudio photo are made from denim with a weight of 420 g/m2, composition: 100% cotton. Thin poplin was used for making the pocket bags and the bias binding.
YOU WILL NEED:
- Main fabric, width 150 cm, taking into account a 10% increase for possible shrinkage, m:
- Lining fabric (thin cotton, poplin recommended) for pocket bags and bias binding: 0.4 – 0.5 m with a width of 140 cm
- Interfacing: approx. 0.25 m with a width of at least 120 cm
- Stitched bias-cut fusible stay tape, 15 mm wide – 1 m
- Straight-grain fusible stay tape, 15 mm wide: approx. 0.3 m
- Metal jeans zipper, length 16 – 18 cm
- Topstitch threads – 60-90 m (3 spools of 30 m)
- Threads to match the fabric – 5 spools (4 for the overlocker, 1 for the sewing machine)
- Denim needles for the sewing machine and overlocker, size 100. These same needles can be used for topstitching.
- Topstitch needle, size 100, if you are not using denim needles.
- Jeans button, diameter 18 – 22 mm – 1 piece, or trouser sewing hook – 1 piece.
